The Birth of In Wheel Time
We wanted to produce something new, a program that features upgraded industry content from the different automotive sectors and we want to cover topics nobody else talks about. This type of fresh perspective would broaden the listening audience, and provide our advertisers with greater opportunities to reach a more diverse, upscale audience for their products and services. And that’s how “In Wheel Time” was born.
Don@InWheelTime.com A familiar face and voice to Houston television viewers and radio listeners, our host, Don Armstrong was recently inducted into the Texas Broadcast Hall of Fame in addition to being a seasoned automotive writer. He’s been involved in the automotive world since high school when he began working at a local Chevrolet dealership. He later helped form a local Corvette Club and still attends car shows of all types.
While anchoring the morning news on the local NBC TV affiliate, Don was asked to report on new cars in a segment called “What’s Don Driving?” The quarterly feature drew rave reviews and solidified Don’s rapport with the auto industry and Houston area viewers alike. Don has been the Marketing and PR Manager for a Top Fuel Team NHRA Drag Racing tour and continues to write for Houston area lifestyle magazines.
Don is also a member of the Texas Auto Writer’s Association and contributes to the ABC 13 Eyewitness Newscasts as videographer and reporter from the SkyEye helicopter. Don still wrenches in his own garage, and attends local or national motorsports events every chance he gets.
Marrs@InWheelTime.com Having more years of experience around cars and trucks than he cares to admit, Mike has provided feature articles and images for publications such as Diesel World, Street Trucks, Sport Trucks, and Cruisin’ Style Magazine. As an automotive photographer, Mike has had his images featured on several automotive magazine covers during his career.
The development of modern muscle cars opened the door to the new car review world of automotive journalism, and the Texas Auto Writers Association. Mike eventually served as the President of that organization for three years, and is the current Past President.
Mike is also a member in good standing with the Texas Professional Photographers Association and continues with a freelance career that includes being a regular contributor to Cruisin’ Style Magazine
