2021 NIssan Rogue Platinum AWD – More of everything for more fun.
A first glance at the new Nissan 2021 Rogue strongly suggests to us that Rogue will continue as the best-selling model in the industry’s biggest segment.
In a recent virtual briefing, Nissan told us, in designing the 2021 Rogue, they focused on delivering functionality, flexibility, technology and safety. The aim was to make their customer’s lives easier.
“The all-new Rogue was purposefully designed to meet all of the needs of today’s young families,” said Mike Colleran, senior vice president, Nissan U.S. Marketing and Sales. “Rogue is playing to win in the midsize crossover game with the ideal mix of expressive design, advanced technology, safety, comfort and versatility.”
Young families for sure, but do not forget family members at the other end of life like us. This new Rogue is loaded with features and functions that make our lives easier too.
Check them out and see how many are important to you.
New and Bolder Exterior
Even in a virtual presentation, the new 2021 Rogue displays updated styling that combines athletic strength with a premium appearance.
The 2021 Rogue continues signature Nissan design elements like the floating roof and evolved V-motion grille. New features include uniquely shaped headlights and “U-shape” bodyside highlights.
New multi-level LED headlights with an expanded illumination area are standard on all 2021 Rogue grade levels and accent the more powerful V-motion grille design. LED fog lights are standard on SL and Platinum grades.
And, for the first time, the 2021 Rogue will be offered in five two-tone color combinations.
New Premium Interior
Nissan says the 2021 Rogue checks all the boxes in terms of interior amenities and equipment for everyday and weekend life for young familes . We add that it fits for us empty nesters too.
The 2021 Rogue has front and rear Nissan Zero Gravity seating that provides comfortable support – short trips or long journeys.
Leather-appointed seating is standard on Rogue SL. Quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seating standard on the Platinum grade.
The new electronic shifter design eliminates the need for mechanical equipment under the shifter, allowing extra storage space under the new “floating” center console.
A new Rogue “butterfly” opening for the front center console allows for easy access by driver and passenger plus “pass-back” access to the second row.
And, with the available Remote Engine Start with Intelligent Climate Control, Rogue’s interior can be heated or cooled before getting in.
OF NOTE: Rear doors are extra-wide and open nearly 90 degrees, making it easier to get a child seat in or out. It also makes getting in and out easier for empty nesters and friends. The rear seat accommodates child seat installation in all three seating positions – so adults or older children can sit on either side of a center-positioned child seat.
In addition, both rear doors offer available class exclusive pull-up sunshades to block direct sunlight.
Rear seating features more leg and headroom than prior models. Reclining seats with available heating provide flexibility for rear passengers.
Wait, there is more. For the first time, Rogue is equipped with available class-exclusive Tri-Zone Climate Control – meaning rear seat occupants can control their temperature separate from the front driver and passenger control.
Cargo is easy in the new Rogue. The split one-touch fold-down second row seat (power remote fold available) provides versatile cargo capability.
The power tailgate (motion activation available) is wider and taller for easier loading. Inside, the redesigned Divide-n-Hide system provides hidden and secure storage for essential gear or valuables.
In addition, the inner right side of the cargo area (behind the wheel arch) is designed to secure fragile grocery items like a gallon of milk.
The 2021 Rogue for 2021 improved or additional technology includes standard Push Button Start, Rear Door Alert, Easy Fill Tire Alert, expanded Nissan Intelligent Key plus available Around View Monitor.
Rogue also offers available wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless music, can be seamlessly transferred from phone to Rogue.
The new wireless smartphone charger allows phones with a range of charge power applications (15-watt maximum) to be charged while driving.
Three Driver Displays – Big and Bright
Bright and bold high-tech displays keep the driver in touch with Roque at all times.
The integration of the full-color 10.8-inch head-up display, 12.3-inch “Digital Dashboard” gauge cluster and large, floating 9.0-inch touch screen display allows Rogue drivers to customize the driving experience personally.
The head-up display, a first for Rogue, at 10.8 inches, is one of the largest head-up displays in the segment, says Nissan.
Below the head-up display, an available advanced fully digital meter display, with specially designed background graphics, measures 12.3 inches wide.
The 9.0-inch “floating” touchscreen is largest in its class. It provides crisp, clear images for navigation, audio display, climate information, RearView Monitor and the available enhanced Intelligent Around View Monitor.
ProPILOT Assist now with Navi-link
Nissan’s enhanced ProPILOT Assist driver-assist system uses next generation radar and camera technology in combination with steering assist and Intelligent Cruise Control to help control acceleration, braking and steering in all traffic conditions.
A more advanced ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link is standard on Rogue Platinum and available on Rogue SL. It links ProPILOT Assist with Nissan’s Door-to- Door Navigation System enabling proactive speed reduction in certain situations like slowing for freeway exits.
In addition, the hold time in stop-and-go highway traffic is increased from three seconds to up to 30 seconds without driver input to adjust. Finally, using traffic sign recognition, the system automatically updates vehicle speed when the speed limit goes up or down.
Technology / Infotainment
NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is standard on SV grades and above. It includes Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System and Text Messaging Assistant, Streaming Audio, Siri Eyes Free, Google Assistant and SiriusXM Radio.

The Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with new Electronic Shifter, delivers the power for both FWD and AWD configurations.
Front-wheel drive models feature three drive modes: Sport, Standard and Eco.
Rogue All-Wheel Drive models has five drive modes available – Off-road, Snow, Standard, Eco and Sport.
The enhanced Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system uses a new electro-hydraulic controlled clutch which can control torque more accurately and quickly by predicting front wheel slippage, enabling quicker torque distribution to the rear wheels.
The 2021 Rogue offers an all-new Vehicle Motion Control System to enrich the drive experience.
Vehicle Motion Control works with the optional Intelligent All- wheel Drive system and Drive Mode Selector to provide four-wheel individual control, improving line traceability through corners and even applying a single brake to smooth out a corner.

Technologies include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.
