Ford spotlights new SUV options at State Fair of Texas Auto Show

Ford usually comes to the State Fair of Texas Auto Show spotlighting their significant capable truck line in the Truck Zone.  This year they have turned their spotlight to the Centennial Building where they have revealed four new sport utility vehicles created with the Texas driver in mind.

Ford is the best-selling brand in Texas, but most folks think that applies to trucks where the F-Series line commands the market.  However, the SUV is also a hot ticket for Ford in Texas.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http://ticket-1994427.inwheeltime.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Raptor.jpg” alt=”2019 Ford F-150 Raptor” title_text=”2019 Ford F-150 Raptor” align=”center” align_tablet=”center” align_last_edited=”on|desktop” _builder_version=”3.23″ animation_style=”fade” animation_duration=”500ms” border_style=”solid” animation=”fade_in” sticky=”off” always_center_on_mobile=”on”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.27.4″ border_style=”solid”]

To celebrate that – they created four new special-edition models for the State Fair of Texas. They are the Expedition Stealth Edition, Expedition Texas Edition, Explorer Limited Luxury Edition, and Explorer Desert Copper Edition – all available for order later this year.

“Texans love their SUVs and these four special-edition models were created very much with them in mind,” said Craig Patterson, Large SUV Marketing Manager at Ford. “Each of these vehicles is a proof point that Ford takes seriously the need to continuously freshen an SUV lineup that is so popular with so many.”

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http://ticket-1994427.inwheeltime.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/cq5dam.web_.881.495.jpeg” alt=”2019 Ford Expedition Texas and Stealth Editions 2″ title_text=”2019 Ford Expedition Texas and Stealth Editions 2″ align=”center” align_tablet=”center” align_last_edited=”on|desktop” _builder_version=”3.23″ animation_style=”fade” animation_duration=”500ms” border_style=”solid” animation=”fade_in” sticky=”off” always_center_on_mobile=”on”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.27.4″ border_style=”solid”]

By expanding choices in its large SUV lineup, Ford says they will continue offering more of the vehicles that consumers say they want. More and more drivers are turning away from traditional sedans in favor of larger trucks and SUVs that offer more space, more amenities, and more capability.

“People want SUVs, they’ve told us that,” Patterson said. “Whether an adventure-minded individual, a couple who needs room to haul home improvement supplies, or a family loading up for a trip across the country, SUVs are in demand. It’s Ford’s goal to make an SUV available that caters to any circumstance.”

Expedition Special Editions

Ford’s biggest market for its large SUVs is Texas where they represent nearly 25 percent of retail sales nationally and outnumber the combined sales in Florida and California, the second- and third-largest Expedition markets, says Ford.

To celebrate that leadership, they introduced two Expedition special editions targeted for Texans.

The Expedition Texas Edition adds 22-inch wheels and new Texas Edition badging to build upon the existing Special Edition Package available on Limited models that already offers a collection of features to make hauling, towing, and parking easier including Cargo Package, Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package and Ford’s Enhanced active park assist.

We spent quite a bit of time towing and camping with an Expedition this summer.  Read more about that here at inwheeltime.com:   http://ticket-1994427.inwheeltime.com/a-texas-adventure/.

Explorer Special Editions

The Ford Explorer has been a solid performer for Texans for years.  Appealing to families who do not need as much space as found in an Expedition and at a commensurate lower price, the Explorer special editions offer more options in the smaller SUV too.

The Explorer Limited Luxury Edition offers available appearance upgrades on the Limited series. Explorer owners can upgrade to get 20-inch premium painted machined aluminum wheels, multi-contour seats with Active Motion, Nirvana leather seats with micro-perforation, an upgraded leather steering wheel, door trim with leather inserts, and chrome mirror caps.

Ford in the Truck Zone

Though the Ford spotlight is on SUV special editions this year, you still need to visit the Ford display in the Truck Zone.  As the largest seller of trucks in the State of Texas, Ford has a full range of exciting trucks with new and innovative features and capability for you to see.

A couple of favorites of ours – in addition to the market-leading F-150 – are the Ford Raptor full-size off-road trail runner and the brand-new Ford Ranger mid-size pickup arriving late this year.
