Hey Houston, its Auto Show time – May 19-23

As Houston emerges from the long ‘winter of the pandemic’ the first-ever Houston ‘Summer’ Auto Show features a curated selection of some of your favorite brands of vehicles for your review.

This limited-edition event takes place at NRG Center May 19-23, 2021.  It includes many of the enthusiast features, plus – for the first time – an RV and boat display.

The Houston Auto Show, produced by the Houston Automobile Dealers Association and presented by the Houston Chronicle, features carmakers of all types and offers an opportunity to test drive a select variety of models under strict safety conditions.

“This first-ever summer auto show has been exciting to produce,” said Roger Elswick, chairman of the Houston Automobile Dealers Association and president of Community Auto Group in Baytown. “With the help of manufacturers, local dealer groups, and individual dealerships, we’ve selected a wide variety of vehicles for guests to experience.”

Exhibitor participants include brands such as; Aston Martin, BMW, Bentley, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, Hyundai, JEEP, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, Mazda, McLaren, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Ram, Rolls-Royce, Toyota, Subaru, Volkswagen, and Volvo.

Though the full lineup is not set, look for the likes of new EV entries from several OEM’s along with a major display from Ford featuring their new Bronco adventure vehicles plus from Jeep, the new Grand Wagoneer and more.

Special Show Attractions

New to Houston will be the Ford Raptor Simulator.  Seating up to five people – fun for the entire family – the Ford Raptor Simulator takes you through a thrilling off-road race in the desert.

The Raptor is the most capable off-road truck that the Ford Motor Company has ever produced.  We are told that, as you ride in the simulator, you will see actual footage taken from the Baja 1000 and you’ll see just how much the Raptor can handle.

A family favorite returns from Jeep and Ram brands.  You will be able to experience the excitement of the latest vehicles at Camp Jeep or on the Ram Test Track. If you have not done these before, check them out.

Finally, for the automotive purist, the Houston Auto Show will also exhibit a selection of classic vehicles with a summer vibe, like a 1934 Ford Woody Wagon and a 1955 Porsche 356 Continental.

But wait – there is still more this year for adventuring families at the Houston Auto Show.

Houston-based, Texas Sportfishing Yacht Sales will fill their space from top-of-the-line bay boats to monster offshore fishing boats valued from $100,000 to one million dollars.

Jump aboard to see their luxury center consoles, high-speed motors, and the best in the bay fishing options including brands like Contender, Yellowfin, Yamaha, and Tidewater.

Longtime Houston RV dealer, Demontrond RV is bringing in a new RV display to the Houston Auto Show.  Expect to see brands such as Thor Motor Coach, Forest River, Winnebago, and Entegra.

Finally, for you ‘bike’ fans, Team Mancuso will display two-wheeled exhilaration with their offering of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
