Deanna says: “I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra with four cylinder engine, automatic transmission, and 105k miles. It has a terrible shake at certain speeds when I accelerate moderately. It is a funny feeling, sort of like a “quiver” of sorts from the front of the car. The engine mounts have been checked, as have the tires and wheels. It only seems to do this at speeds over 35mph. We can’t think of what else to do. Any ideas of what direction to go?”
Mike: Deanna, to me it seems like you might have a bad inboard CV joint. On front wheel drive vehicles, bad inner axle (CV) joints often cause the exact symptoms you describe. Have your shop re check them and see if they find excessive play. Don’t ignore the symptoms because it could cause other problems.
