Jeep brand folks tell us that they are returning the Wrangler Rubicon Recon edition to the iconic SUV’s lineup.  In fact, you can order one from your dealer now.

Based on the Wrangler Rubicon, it will be powered by the powerful and efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with eTorque mild hybrid technology.  Featuring unique exterior and interior content, it will include heavy-duty rock rails and aggressive 33-inch mud-terrain tires.

“We are excited to bring the Wrangler Rubicon Recon model back to the Jeep lineup as it represents the ultimate combination of Rubicon off-road 4×4 capability with a unique appearance package that will resonate with our most diehard off-road enthusiasts,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA North America. “With the return of the Wrangler Rubicon Recon, we’re bolstering the wide appeal Jeep Wrangler already offers by expanding our legendary Rubicon lineup.” 

The return of the popular Rubicon Recon edition to the 2020 Jeep Wrangler lineup marks the first time Recon is available on the newest generation platform – Jeep Wrangler (JL).

Rubicon Recon interior highlights include a Jeep trail bag, red seat belts and PUR-wrapped mid bolsters featuring red accent stitching.

Exterior features for the Wrangler Rubicon Recon model include heavy-duty rock rails, body-color fenders, LED headlights and taillights, gloss black grille with body-color surrounds, Recon fender badge, matte black fender vent decal with American flag and new 17-inch aluminum wheels with a black finish.

Other exterior elements include a matte black hood stripe decal with red tracer, front and rear steel bumpers with bumper loops, along with Rubicon gray grille throats and headlamp inserts.

All Wrangler Rubicon Recon models feature next-generation Dana front and rear heavy-duty axles, enhanced off-road rock rails and the Rock-Trac NV241 two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio.

Wrangler Rubicon Recon also includes electric front and rear locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar and 33-inch Falken Wildpeak Mud-Terrain tires, taking the Wrangler to the highest level of capability, says Jeep.

The Wrangler Rubicon Recon edition will be available in eleven colors: Black, Granite Crystal, Sting-Gray, Billet Silver, Ocean Blue, Sarge, Bikini, Firecracker Red, Punk’n, Hellayella and Bright White.

 

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon has an MSRP of $43,380 for the two-door model and $46,880 for the four- door version.
