Just in time for the holidays – Lexus give us another limited-edition Inspiration Series vehicle – the Luxury LX.
As the flagship LX member of the Inspiration Series – this LX Inspiration is more than just a luxury SUV says Lexus. Already the top-of-the-line in the prestigious Lexus lineup, the LX Inspiration is said to provide a no—decision-needed path to a higher-level driving experience in a luxury SUV.
The Lexus LX Inspiration production will be limited to just 500 vehicles. It is not cheap, but – loaded with all of the capability and features you need or could want – the MSRP of $100,420 will not be problem for a discriminating Lexus luxury buyer.
The LX Inspiration features a stealth Black Onyx exterior riding high on 21-inch black alloy wheels and center caps. Black Onyx is the signature of the exterior treatments including a black front grille and dark chrome surround. The black trim accents the headlamps, fog lights and windows along with smoked headlamp lenses. At the rear, the Oynx theme continues with black chrome accents for the taillamps, license plate and back door.
On the inside, the Moonlight White Semi-Aniline Leather Trim with a black headliner complements the black exterior. To help complete the thoughtfully crafted luxury SUV, the contrasts of the black and white throughout give a distinctive finish to the interior.
Technology and More
Every LX Inspiration Series includes “LX” projector door lamps, a Rear Seat Entertainment System, 19-speaker, 450-watt Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound audio system and Color Head-Up Display (HUD).
A 12.3-inch navigation display with Remote Touch Interface (RTI) leads the list of multimedia and connectivity features on LX. Its multimedia display screen can be split into three sections to show different functions, such as navigation, audio and climate control information as the driver desires.
Other features include a Cool box, wireless charger and heated wood & leather-trimmed steering wheel and more.
Like all LX 570s, the LX Inspiration Series is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 383 horsepower and 403 lb.-ft. of torque available at 3,600 rpm. Equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the LX is capable of towing up to 7,000-lbs.
It is equipped with the Lexus Multi-terrain System for safe travel over all types of challenging landscapes. The system adapts to five different types of terrain — Rock, Rock and Dirt, Mogul, Loose Rock and Mud and Sand.
The LX Innovative Crawl Control System’s low-range gearing provides slow-speed crawling capability for handling steep off-road hills and uneven terrain. In addition, the system enhances control further with Turn Assist, Hill-Start Assist Control and Variable Gear Ratio Steering.
Visibility and Safety
LX puts key information directly in line of sight with a Color Head-Up Display (HUD) on the windshield. This system shows the vehicle speed, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control information icons and Intuitive Park Assist.
Other features include Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) and the Lexus Safety System+. It includes Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Intelligent High-Beam headlamps and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
Due in November, we urge those interested in the Lexus LX Inspiration to be in touch with the Lexus dealer right away to be sure they get one.
Though not in white as are other vehicles featured in their ‘December to Remember’ promotions, the Lexus LX Inspiration will look seriously awesome in 500 driveways this season.
LC Inspiration Concept SEMA 2018
A Lexus LC Inspiration Concept was shown at the 2018 SEMA Show just ended. Production of this unique LC is under consideration with announcement to come at a later date.
As shown, it features a Flare Yellow exterior and a unique black 21” forged alloy wheels for contrast. A carbon fiber roof and an active rear spoiler completed the distinctive look of this coupe. On the inside this LC has gets several unique design elements like Bespoke Yellow door inserts made of Alcantara connecting the exterior to the cabin while the touring seats feature semi-aniline leather with yellow stitching. That same stitching is also used on the instrument panel, console and glovebox to give the entire cabin a one-of-a-kind look.
The LC Inspiration concept is powered by a 471-horsepower, 5.0-liter V8 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Lexus says it can deliver 0-to-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds and up to 25 mpg on the highway.
Lexus Inspiration first introduced SEMA 2017
As we noted, the LX Inspiration is their ‘next’ exclusive model in the Inspiration Series of distinctive high-end models for their flagship vehicle lines.
2018 Limited Edition LC
Lexus introduced the 2018 LC Inspiration at SEMA 2017 – part of a joint promotion with Marvel Studio’s ‘Black Panther’ graphic novel series introduction. A limited edition, the production run was 100 vehicles only.
The 2018 LC featured a first-of-its-kind paint technique called Structural Blue. Inspired by the morpho butterfly, the paint is developed through an eight-month process. Though the paint contains no actual blue pigment, its unique construction reflects blue light and highlights the vehicle’s dynamic design and features to produce a compelling motion effect even when parked.
Other features included: unique carbon fiber scuff plate, bespoke white interior, 21-inch forged alloy wheels and a Signature Barneys sommelier set, a limited-edition collection of barware inspired by the vehicle’s elegant design.
Black Panther Inspired LC Car
The companion Black Panther LC vehicle took its inspiration and cues from the novel.
Lexus told us that the sheet metal of the Black Panther LC was reinforced with a layer of vibranium weave, making the vehicle almost entirely bulletproof. That the top-secret refinement processes also allowed for a self-sustaining fueling component (vibranium-powered core) that enhances the Black Panther Inspired LC’s driving dynamics.
Other features of the Black Panther Inspired LC included a customized body-widening kit, Black Panther mask inlay on hood with vibranium-powered core indicator nodes, Vibranium-infused self-healing paint treatment, pulsating underbody glow, a Side-view mirror design based on a panther’s claw with instinctual positioning technology to align with driver’s eyeline and more.
Since there was only one of these, we wonder whose driveway the Black Panther LC is parked in today.
