Tundra SX Package

Using the SR5 grade Double Cab (4×2 or 4×4) powered by the 5.7-liter i-FORCE V8 engine, the SX Package gives owners an opportunity to demonstrate the toughness of their ride in a personal way.

Toyota has relied on a selection of color-keyed accents and blacked-out wheels in the SX Package to present a clean yet aggressive look for owners.  The exterior of the truck is streamlined with the removal of all exterior badging. Next, color-keyed front grille surrounds, front bumper end caps and a rear bumper are added for a uniform appearance. Front bucket seats are upgraded for added comfort while 18-inch black alloy wheels complete the look.

Tacoma SX Blackout

We find it nearly amazing that, for 2019, the Tacoma is offered in an impressive 32 different versions including a new black-out themed SX Package priced at – are you ready? – just $560.

The SX Package is based on the Tacoma SR grade and is available on 4x2s and 4x4s on Access Cab models. It features black-out treatment on high-visibility parts such as the badging, overfenders, mirror caps, grille, door handles and headlamps. It also gets the addition of 16-inch matte black alloy wheels.

2019 RAV4 is coming soon

We did get a good look at the all-new 2019 Toyota RAV4 small SUV at the Media Preview the day before the Fair opened.  Regrettably it is not on display for the run of the Fair because it is not yet available for sale.

However, we did get some pictures of the 2019 RAV4 Adventure during the press conference introducing the special edition 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra trucks.

For 2019, RAV4 offers a more robust styling on the new TNGA platform that allows it to be lower and wider, but have shorter overhangs improving its ability to handle rugged terrain.

Two powertrains are available – a 2.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to an eight-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission (five gas models) and a 2.5L Toyota Hybrid System II with an Electronically-Controlled Continuously-Variable transmission for the four hybrid models.

Getting you where you need to go, RAV4 offers three AWD drive systems.  They include a Toyota-first Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD with Rear Driveline Disconnect, a non-dynamic torque vectoring AWD system (both with Multi-Terrain Select drive control) and an AWD-i system for the hybrid models.

We will save the rest for after we get our first drive done.  Stay tuned or sign up for direct updates from Toyota here:   https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/rav4/
