AmericanTrucks tells us their latest episode of “The Haul” preps a brand-new F-250 to haul a 44-foot camper.
The truck is owned by Chris, one of AT’s employees, who has given the go-ahead to Justin Dugan and his team to install his stockpile of aftermarket parts.
“We’re prepping the brand-new F-250 for the next family adventure and hauling that brand new camper” says Justin Dugan.
The video includes a detailed look at two impactful mods that improve the already-impressive towing capacity of this 7.3 gasser.
A rear axle SES suspension is essential when hauling heavy and often. It is basically a rubber helper spring that greatly controls the compression and more importantly, the rebounds. The affordable price point and 5-minute install yield huge results by stabilizing the towing experience and reducing the rear end sag.
Secondly, a fifth wheel hitch is the safest way to haul a 44-foot, 14,000 lb. camper.
Built like a tank with a 16,000 lb. capacity head, the OEM Puck System 5th Wheel Roller slides back 12 inches to accommodate tight turns without having the camper impact the cab. A one-man job, the fifth wheel hitch is the easiest way to hook up a trailer as compared to a bumper pull trailer.
