Ram truck is adding a Rebel 12 special edition with new technology and premium appointments to its one-of-a-kind off-road full-size pickup line.
Available in the fourth quarter, the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 special edition will offer unique technology never before available on Rebel, including Ram’s new Uconnect 4C with 12-inch screen and navigation.
“Expanding the availability of the segment-leading Uconnect 4C 12-inch touchscreen is a direct response to market demand,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – North America. “Customers have been asking for additional high-end features on Rebel and now we’re delivering with benchmark technology and materials wrapped in off-road capability.”
The Rebel 12 special edition fourth-generation Uconnect 4C system offers new features and connected services through Ram’s class-exclusive and easy-to-use 12-inch fully configurable touchscreen display including the first-time debut of the all-new SiriusXM with 360L.
The Uconnect 4C system includes enhanced processing power, multi-touch gesture (like pinch-to-zoom) capability, sharper graphics and the ability to support smartphone integrations. Its’ new split-screen enables personalization by the driver allowing selected operation of two different applications such as Apple CarPlay and HVAC controls, or a single application, such as navigation across the entire 12-inch touchscreen.
Completing the system package will be the most powerful audio system ever available in a pickup – a 900-watt Harman Kardon with 19 speakers and 10-inch subwoofer that delivers a ‘surround sound’ audio experience with the careful placement of:
- Three 3.5-inch and one-inch coaxial speakers located in the instrument panel
- Two 3.5-inch and one-inch coaxial speakers located in the front doors
- Two 6x9-inch speakers located in the front doors
- Two 6x9-inch speakers located in the rear doors
- Two 3.5-inch and one-inch coaxial speakers located in the headliner
- One 10-inch enclosed subwoofer behind the rear seat (passenger side)
- One 12-channel boosted Class-D amplifier
- Four ANC microphones
Personal device integration, in-vehicle connectivity and wireless charging are facilitated by the reimagined center console that features more than 12 different storage combinations and the ability to accommodate multiple devices in use, storage or charging.
There are five USB ports in the center console. Four of the five USB ports are new type C/A ports that allow devices to be charged up to four times faster than standard USB outlets. Three of the USB ports, including one in the rear seating area, are fully functioning and communicate with the Uconnect interface. Two three-pronged 115-volt household plugs are found in the first and second rows (one in the center stack and one at the rear of the center console).
The next-generation SiriusXM 360L platform enables Ram Rebel drivers and passengers to enjoy an enhanced SiriusXM experience based on their listening preferences including exclusive SiriusXM on-demand programming not previously available in a vehicle.
The Rebel 12 special edition also features leather-trimmed interior with heated front seats and unique metal speaker grilles trimmed in the Rebel’s signature Radar Red anodized finish.
And, of course, the Ram Rebel brings all of its factory-engineered, off-road capability equipped with features like a factory lift, locking rear differential, 33-inch tires, Bilstein shocks, skid plates, tow hooks and other off-road-ready features.
The Rebel 12 special edition package will be available on all Rebel cab, color and powertrain configurations.
Packed with premium materials and technology, the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 is a great value starting at $46,990 equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 powertrain. The legendary more powerful 5.7L HEMI V8 powertrain option is $1,195 more.
