As Santa completes his annual trek across North America this month, the 2018 Mazda MX-5 models complete with some nifty new stuff and attractive pricing will be arriving in dealerships.

With the base MX-5 Sport starting at just MSRP $25,295, the 2018 models will offer new color choices for the soft top models (previously rumored) that includes an eye-catching Dark Cherry; an Auburn Nappa leather interior and two new premium exterior colors – Soul Red Crystal and Machine Gray Metallic.

The MX-5 Club will offer black, heated leather-trimmed seats as part of a performance package and an available (additional) upgrade from the leather-trimmed to full Recaro leather seating while the base MX-5 Sport now includes the Mazda Connect infotainment system as standard.

Three available trim levels will offer a range of pricing, amenities and performance that are sure to attract a variety of drivers in 2018, says Mazda. As you would expect, the entry-level MX-5 Sport expresses the pure simplicity of the MX-5 formula, with the MX-5 Club delivering a sharper-edged experience and the MX-5 Grand Touring presenting, what Mazda calls, their ‘most sophisticated’ option.

Customers can choose between the standard Black soft top or go with the new Dark Cherry.  The Auburn-colored interior and Nappa leather seating surfaces – previously offered only on the MX-5 RF Launch Edition – are now available in MX-5 Grand Touring models.  An engineering retune of the rear suspension system in the soft top has improved its handling and reduced the intrusion of exterior noise to the cabin.

All MX-5 models sold in the U.S. come with the Mazda quick-revving, 2.0-liter engine that delivers 155 horsepower. Power is routed to the rear wheels via the six-speed six-speed manual transmission or an available six-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Colors include a newly available Eternal Blue Mica, Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Soul Red Crystal and Machine Gray Metallic – previously only available on MX-5 RF retractable fastback model.

The 2018 MX-5 soft top models begin arriving at dealerships late in December with full availability across the country by end of January.
